It is one of the largest and most beautiful vineyards in Europe, covering an area of 2,300 hectares, with about 11.5 million grapevines.
The vineyards are bordered on one side by the bed of the Cijevna River, a sinking river, which, in search of its path to the Morača and the sea, broke through ancient rocks and formed a picturesque small canyon. Although the vineyard is vast and the plots are quite far apart, visitors are given the opportunity to explore it completely, with a glass of sparkling wine and a leisurely ride on a tourist train that glides through this viticultural kingdom, where 29 different grape varieties are cultivated, among which the most significant are the indigenous Montenegrin varieties: Vranac and Krstač. Vranac is the undisputed ruler of Ćemovsko field, occupying as much as two-thirds of the vineyard.
After touring the vineyard, a visit to the Šipčanik cellar is a must—to experience the impressive ambiance of this unique wine cellar in Europe, while enjoying unforgettable aromas and flavors — the “bouquet” of Montenegro.
